Keynote Presentations

The future of DNS Security and IDNs

Presented by Ram Mohan (EVP and Chief Technology Officer, Afilias)
This talk looks at the current status of DNS security, stability of the root, IDNs, and where it is all headed.

Making Telcos Think In Packets

Presented by Afzal Abdul Rahim (CEO TIME)
There are significant challenges being faced by Telcos in migrating to a full IP network (note the distinction between "ISP's" and "Telcos"). The challenges are not legacy infrastructure or budgets, but rather a serious disruption to the conventional decision-making cycle.

BGP growth over 15 years or Is the Internet really just a star network after all?

Presented by Brian Carpenter (Department of Computer Science, The University of Auckland)
This talk covers some observations on the relationships between three measures of the size of the Internet since 1994. The size of the BGP4 routing table, the number of active Autonomous Systems, and the total size of the Internet, have fairly simple relationships despite the Internet's growth by two orders of magnitude.
