The APNIC Executive Council (EC) represents the APNIC Membership and acts in the best interests of the organization.
Open elections to fill vacant positions on the APNIC EC will be held on 2 March 2012 at APNIC 33. The EC candidates whose positions will be up for election are:
- Maemura Akinori
- Che-Hoo Cheng
- Ma Yan

About APNIC Election Timelines
The dates and times that govern the APNIC election process are measured backward from the close of voting on election day. Election day is the day of the Annual Member Meeting (AMM) at the APNIC Meeting where the election is being held.
During the week of the APNIC Meeting, the times are calculated according to local time at the event location. In this case, New Delhi time (UTC +5:30).
- Nominations open approximately 8 weeks before AMM day
- Nominations close approximately 2 weeks before AMM day
- Proxy & Online voting opens 10 working days before AMM day
- Proxy & Online voting closes at 09:00 48 hours before the election
- EC on-site voting takes place 09:00-14:00 local time of the event
Voting
Only organizations with a current APNIC Member account are eligible to vote in EC elections. Eligible voters may cast their votes either online (using MyAPNIC) or on-site (with a paper ballot). Membership tier determines the total number of votes available to each APNIC Member. It is possible to appoint a proxy to exercise some or all of your organization's votes (download proxy form) . Online voting and proxy appointment will open on Wednesday, 15 February 2012 and closes on Wednesday, 29 February 2012.
